Program Description

The program covers the three high-energy physics areas: cosmic, energy, and intensity and is aimed at computationally-oriented graduate students interested in new educational, training, and research opportunities. Graduate students attending U.S. institutions have the opportunity to push forward their scientific projects and to be exposed to a number of leading-edge computational areas including next-generation architectures, the use of high-performance computing resources for data-intensive tasks, and analysis of large-scale data sets.

Interns work at Fermilab National Accelerator Laboratory, Argonne National Laboratory, Brookhaven National Laboratory or Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory.

Eligibility

• Enrollment in a qualified graduate program
• Strong computing or computational background
• 3.0-grade point average or above on a 4.0 scale
• U.S. citizenship or permanent residency
• Proof of identity and eligibility to work in the U.S.
